Social Media Recruitment Strategy

Your company is on LinkedIn and Instagram. And still, roles stay open too long and colleagues don’t share.

The people you want aren’t on job boards. They aren’t looking for a vacancy. They see what your colleagues share. Your biggest reach sits in your own team.

After one day of Social Media Recruitment training, your team has a strategy in 6 steps, a content calendar and a way to get colleagues on board, without anyone on camera. We train your team online or at your office.

What does the Social Media Recruitment training give your team?

  1. Your own social media recruitment strategy, matched to your organisation and target group.
  2. Posts that candidates read, recognise and share.
  3. A content calendar with a rhythm your team keeps up.
  4. Clarity on which platforms reach your candidates, and which ones don’t.
  5. Colleagues who share as ambassadors, including those who never appear on video.
  6. One way of working for the whole team, instead of everyone posting in their own style.

Programme of the Social Media Recruitment training

1. A social media recruitment strategy in 6 steps

Not loose posts, but an approach that fits your hiring goals.

  • A measurable objective for recruitment through social media
  • An analysis of the target group you want to reach
  • The right platform choice, not every channel
  • A message that fits your employer brand
  • Practical implementation, with a plan your team presents to management or marketing

2. Content that candidates respond to

Good posts don’t come from gut feeling. Your team learns to create content that stands out, feels credible and invites a response.

  • Content ideas that fit your employer brand
  • What works on LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok
  • Proven tips for more relevant followers and interactions
  • A workshop on content strategy and planning, ending with an action plan

3. Colleagues as ambassadors

Your team learns how to activate the network of your own employees.

  • An approach that gets colleagues on board
  • Tactics for colleagues who don’t want to be on camera
  • Examples from organisations that got this right

4. Job ads, tools and measuring

Your team learns where paid reach helps and how to see what works.

  • When a paid job ad pays off, and when organic reach is enough
  • How to get better results from job advertisements
  • Tools for content distribution and social media monitoring
  • AI as an aid for writing posts
  • Measuring results and adjusting each quarter

5. Your team’s own questions

The day follows your organisation’s situation. Questions that often come up:

  • How does the LinkedIn algorithm work?
  • Which tactics work for recruitment on Facebook?
  • How do we start on Instagram, and how do we grow followers and engagement?
  • How do we make X work for recruitment?
  • How do we create engaging content for TikTok?

What your team takes home

After the Social Media Recruitment training, your team receives a report of the day, including the action plan you build together in the workshop.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Kasia Robeerst, Recruiter: “I learned a lot from Jacco and now I can use our corporate social media completely differently.”

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ouafika Aissati, Recruitment Marketeer: “Nice interactive training with lots of tips and tricks for deploying recruitment via the various social media platforms. Jacco is a great trainer, who offers enough space for in-depth questions.”

Who is the Social Media Recruitment training for?

For talent acquisition teams, recruiters, employer branding specialists, recruitment marketeers and HR professionals who use social media for recruitment. Your team doesn’t need to be content creators. Basic experience with a company page is enough.

A good fit when your team:

  • creates social content for recruitment or employer branding itself, or wants to bring it in-house
  • works with marketing and wants more control over recruitment content
  • lacks a strategy and a content calendar
  • wants to activate colleagues as ambassadors

Less of a fit when your team:

  • mainly sources candidates through LinkedIn searches and InMails. Our LinkedIn recruitment training fits better then.
  • wants a click-by-click course in LinkedIn Campaign Manager or Meta Ads Manager.

How the training works

Tailored to your team. You decide the group size, the location and the date, online or at your office. The programme follows your tools, your target groups and your questions.

Tell-Show-Do-Review. Every Social Media Recruitment Strategy training follows the same rhythm per topic. First the why, then examples from practice, then your team working on its own case, and finally feedback on the result.

No homework beforehand. Your team walks in and starts.

Your trainer: Jacco Valkenburg

Trainer Jacco ValkenburgJacco Valkenburg started recruiting through LinkedIn in 2004. Four years later, he wrote the first Dutch book about LinkedIn and started the LinkedIn group Recruitment Consultants and Staffing Professionals.

Today that group has around 1 million members. That is how he knows what social media does for visibility and reach, also among passive candidates.

He still recruits himself. For 25 years, organisations have brought him in as interim recruiter for vacancies that got stuck.

Jacco founded RecruitmentTraining.pro in 2007 and has written 9 books on recruitment.

Does anything stick after one day?
Your team leaves with a strategy, a content calendar and an action plan it built itself, plus a report of the day. The programme also covers how to measure results and adjust each quarter.

Do you cover paid campaigns in LinkedIn Campaign Manager or Meta Ads Manager?
Not the technical set-up. Your team learns when a paid job ad pays off and when organic reach is enough. The execution stays with your team or your agency.
